Like most humans, on the deepest level, I crave to be known. This conversation is a knowing — one of the truest recorded conversations that I’ve had. Being with my friend Jono Fisher, The Wakeup Project founder, is just…so…deeply comforting.
Emelia and I go about things from different ends and get close to the same bright center — real, no bullshit compassion. Put on the kettle and listen in.
Pace Smith is so good at asking the deeper questions about what it means to do meaningful work in the world. Unlike most “business” interviews, here we talk a lot about deep desire, hit on The Enneagram, make our way to The 99 Divine Qualities of Sufism and slide into the first base of grace.
Last week over 500 Desire Map Book Clubs gathered in cafes and living rooms and book stores. Boise. London. Brazil. And one group in LA that I surprised!
This is one of my favourite interviews with one of my favourite people. Marie Forleo and I get all Jersey Girl, definitely deep, and as always, real, on goal setting and Desire….
Usually, I try to avoid watching/listening to my own interviews or speaking gigs. But he talked me into watching this. We cover a lot of ground — ambition, systems design, cowboys, and of course… love. Tune in.
Lisa Schrader and I jammed on all kinds of power questions and concepts for her Shakti Summit. Deep bow to the Shakti love. Listen in here…
Everything I’ve accomplished has had inner circle support – sleeves-rolled up kind of support. No secrets, soul-bared, nuts and bolts hashing it out. Late nights in living rooms, emergency cellphone calls on street corners. Power advice by texts. Three-day retreats with coloured pens, calendars out and red wine. You get the idea….
Whenever I talk to Hiro Boga, I know I’m in the presence of…true presence. Rare and lucid is she. Hiro is a master intuitive who has helped thousands of clients, including me, fire up their creative sovereignty — the ability to rule your inner world, with dignity and intention. I spoke to Hiro the other day, and the conversation was luminous, indeed…
Kris and I jammed on wellness, love, and kale. Watch til the end and you’ll hear how I’ve used Crazy Sexy Diet to get my own glow on (and what I think of Dr. Oz, hint: oo la la.)
And this all goes back to waving the flag of your passion. Your passion is your qualification. It’s your leading qualification.
Here’s a formula: Start telling the truth to yourself in as many ways as possible. And then start telling the truth to a few more people. Extend.
I give a zip-zap run down of what I think is up in the industry right now. I also talk about generosity + entrepreneurship, and the power of telling your own story.
Why we’ve become too politically corrected when it comes to giving our opinions and the intersection between sovereignty and collaboration.
The paradigms of collaboration, the pain of being edited, and creating a culture of yes.
I sigh when I read this book. About every three paragraphs I close my eyes and shake my head in awe, as if to say to the gods of philosophy and poetry, Thank you for this man! This is a diamond blessing of a book that has become one of my favourite gifts to give.
I feel fully self-realized in my online work and relationships. But offline, it’s a whole different story. How can we be our true selves, online AND off?
Her Q: Which bits matter least {in your life}? My A: The peer pressure to be on Twitter and optimize search words. The dust bunnies beneath my desk.
I think it’s a really precious dualism that you can’t escape if you want to be wide awake. We want to go home…we are home. We seek approval…we seek to be free. We want to be independent and truly self-referencing but the truth is that we do need each other … because we are each other.
