If you have music that automatically starts playing when people log on to your site: turn it off. It’s annoying. People are working in shared spaces, have their own music playing on i-Pods and radios, and don’t need the interruption.

I’m loving whomever on the Academy Awards production team came up with the brilliant idea to have five previous best actress/actor Oscar winners introduce the five nominees in the same categories. Sophia Loren paying homage to Meryl Streep; Robert DeNiro admiring Sean Penn…
Studies show that positive reinforcement with children fosters self-esteem and better problem-solving skills. Praise the good, deflect the bad. The power of accentuating the positive isn’t something we grow out of.
Try these: How would you solve this problem if you were raised by wolves? Double-dare yourself. Express the issue as a mathematical equation.
$85,000 = my salary for the third year in business at my last company. $0 = what I left with from my last company. $7,000 = annual cost of full time daycare for my four year old. $170 = hourly rate for my accountant. $3,000 = my standard speaking fee.
You feel, therefore you are. Your desired feelings should be the basis of your goals and strategic planning. Every dream is based on a desired feeling; focus on your inner state first and your outer reality has a better chance of lining up with your ideals.
“The fire I feel in myself, it’s a very enjoyable thing. It carries an element of desperateness. It also carries an element of thankfulness.” The Boss took the words right out of my mouth. Purrrr.
But parents are only human, and we are striving to improve, and that’s what we want to teach our children; that we can be happy with what we have, but that if we fail and give in to our human frailties, that’s OK. We can just try to do better next time, and figure out a better way.

I write mo’ better when I’m warm and cozy. I love my Uggs more everyday {tho’ let it be known, I do not think that Uggs should ever be worn in public.}
What are you loving right now?
Every time you find yourself habitually switching to e-mail, stop yourself. Breathe. And then focus on your work instead. Your reward: you get a lot more done.
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are my full tilt focus days. This is when I do what I do best and what I do best generates my livelihood. On focus days, I write and write some more. I jam with fellow thinkers and media folk, and then I write some more.
Her Q: Which bits matter least {in your life}? My A: The peer pressure to be on Twitter and optimize search words. The dust bunnies beneath my desk.
Being clear on how I contribute to the Twitter community: provocative inquiry (lil’ white hot truth Q’s.) No ‘what I’m having for lunch’ or ‘hey everyone, I’m signing off for bed now’ commentary.
