Taking planetary alignments into consideration, bringing love into politics, and nature consciousness into commerce is not spiritual bypassing. That’s spiritual practice.

When you feel like you have nothing to offer—TRUST your rhythms. Rest. Regenerate. Do what it takes to be well. Our culture confuses productivity-output-achievement with self-worth.
I’ve gotten in the habit of creating a “What I Trust” list before a big gig, or when any situation feels a bit wobbly. Often we’re so fixated on firing up endorphins, we forget that feeling assured and comforted is where the real power is. Calm and centered is magnetic. So… what do you trust?
I’ve always prayed. To heal. To have. I pray for people I love and people I have a hard time liking. I’ve sat in prayer circles petitioning rain and for someone’s cancer to dissolve. I know dozens of prayers from various faiths. I’ve published prayers. Danced them. Sang them. Sweat them. In reverence, in shock, in exquisite thanks.
I pray differently now.
Comparison. Resiliency. True Love. If you’re in WTF Bootcamp right now—you will get through it. You’re in it because your Soul is up for it.
Popularity isn’t always true power. Money isn’t always success. Experience does not guarantee wisdom. Question it all. And do not doubt the wisdom of your rage.
Your esteem and your money. Here’s a money-saving tip that also happens to be a radical counter-cultural act of defiance.
There’s so much faking it to make it and deception happening in every sector of life — from politics to self-improvement. So how can we hone our truth detectors?
The Courageous Minority vs. the road to mediocrity (which is always really…safe.) Safe. The road to mediocre is always really…safe. And in terms of fulfillment, “safe” is really, really dangerous.
If you’re being your whole, real, true, GENUINE, “authentic” self…you are going to be a walking, talking, tweeting, PARADOX. This is a good thing. Because WISDOM is paradoxical.
Antidepressants, meditation, the Goddess, and antibiotics. Making up your healing path. There’s a time and place for everything. Knowing the right time and the right place is how you become your own healer.
True wisdom usually holds and transcends opposing points of view. Wisdom knows that there is always an exception to the rule, that there is a time and place, and that a case-by-case approach is divine protocol.
Groupthink is difficult to detect in the self-help space because it’s often spun as progressive and undogmatic. It shimmers with a counter-culture glow.
A warning about shady lightworkers… Healers, magicians, followers…so much can go wrong. There are spiritual superhumans and TRULY luminous leaders. Some people DO work for the Light, others…others do their work in the shadows and make it look shiny.
THE LIE OF AFFILIATION. The Lie of Affiliation says, “Groupthink is good think.” We could also call this The Lie of Being Cool. Join me for lunch on Facebook Live tomorrow [12pm PST/ 3pm EST] and we’ll bite into the dynamics of group-think (it can really suck) and I’ll do Q&A!
Like most humans, on the deepest level, I crave to be known. This conversation is a knowing — one of the truest recorded conversations that I’ve had. Being with my friend Jono Fisher, The Wakeup Project founder, is just…so…deeply comforting.
I think we’re obsessed with protein, and sunscreen, and sameness. And we forget, more tragically than most can understand, that consuming LIGHT is how we grow — in union, and with distinction.
My very personal hurt, suffered, cried, tanked, flopped, crawled, begged for mercy list. May it bring you comfort. Because here’s what I know for SURE: You are never the only one. And there’s always a way through. Always.
“Just be yourself.” Most common self-help sermon ever. I’ve been preaching it for years. Except…being yourself doesn’t always work. Sometimes it’s dangerous. Sometimes it’s not worth the frustration or the futility.
Meaningfulness. Reveal myself. Be compassionate. Don’t worry about being invited back. Go there. xo. I jotted this down when I began writing my book. I wanted a manifesto and it had to happen quickly because…I had a book to write.
Does it feel light, or does it feel heavy? An idea surfaces. An opportunity. A fork in the road. A big decision. Little decisions that make up your life. And maybe it sounds right or looks good at first. It could make you money. It's there for the taking. It'd be easy...
