How I got my body and energy back
Big jumbo disclaimer before we begin: I’m not a doctor, functional MD, naturopath, or astrologer. I don’t play one on Instagram. This is not medical advice. This is a healing biopic—my body, my karma, my choices. Take what you want, leave the rest.
This has been a three-year process. It has been very expensive. It’s been staggered and challenging and amazing. But I feel and look better than ever. Here’s what actually worked.
Here we go, healing with D…
THE MOLD + METALS DETOX (Years 1–2)
Mold tried to kill me. Twice. Two homes. Both with water damage. Within six months: respiratory issues flared, 15+ pounds gained, brain fog so bad I felt like I was stoned most of the time.
I tested for dangerously high mold AND metals levels. Both mercury and lead.
What I did:
Guided by my naturopath, Dr. Sonia Jensen at Divine Elements in Vancouver, I did the True Cellular Detox program—specifically CytoDetox drops (you need a practitioner to access this)
NAD IVs
Myers Cocktails and Vitamin D shots every other week
Methylene Blue (tried it; wouldn’t do it again after my own research)
Colonics and coffee enemas at Inner Garden in Vancouver
Nebulizing and steaming with rosemary oil
Antibiotics when necessary, then gut repair after.
Things got worse before they got better. But slowly, my brain came back online, inflammation decreased and the toxins left my body.
THE GUT HEALING (Year 2)
My body was on fire from inflammation. I wasn’t absorbing nutrients from food or supplements. I took a food sensitivity test and found out I was allergic to corn (which has a connection to mold) and all dairy. And bizarrely, venison and brazil nuts.
What I did:
Cut out all allergens. No more popcorn or corn tortillas. Sad face.
Started eating meat again after being vegan/vegetarian. I said a prayer to the animal kingdom and made the shift
Stopped taking any supplements or food with citric acid—it’s a form of mold.

Did the CellCore Parasite Cleanse, a 3-month protocol through Jenn Pike. OMG. that was illuminating and satisfying.
Mold and parasites feed on each other. They’re the bullies in your body. Getting rid of both was transformational.
THE WEIGHT LOSS (Year 3)
The weight wasn’t going to budge while my body was just trying to function. When your immune system is compromised, it’s not interested in burning fat.
I tried everything: gym, cardio, trainers, 90-minute workouts 4x/week, protein shakes. Nothing worked. I got sicker and stayed chubs.
What actually worked: Primal Bod
Candi Frazier’s Primal Bod program is heavy on meat and intermittent fasting, so I was resistant. But a gorgeous celeby friend of mine said it worked for her, “Just do it!” I committed to 3 months because I can do pretty much anything for 3 months. I went all in. It changed my body for the best.
I lost 12 pounds in 3 weeks. 28 pounds total over 3 months.
What I did:
Heavy on meat protein (I mean a lot)
Minimal carbs (bye potatoes)
No protein shakes, no fake food
Intermittent fasting
No cardio, lot’s of walking
I learned. A lot. 12 educational modules over 12 weeks
No counting calories
Great community
This isn’t keto.
I reset my insulin-resistant body into an insulin sensitive, fat-burning bod. I recommend it to all my friends for a body re-set.
Other things that helped:
Ocean swimming (basically praying in the ocean)
Sauna 3–5 nights/week (I have a sauna that fits in my bedroom)
Cold showers (no cold plunging—I looked into Dr. Stacey Sims’ work; cold is better for men, heat is better for women.)
Stopped snacking (huge difference)
I added fruit back in after losing weight (my Inner Child needs fruit, fruit is life 😀)
Glucose Goddess methods for blood sugar management—science-backed, life-experience-informed approach to timing and food combos, love her.
THE SKINCARE + BEAUTY
I got asked at a recent gig, quietly) “Have you had work done? Are you doing the ‘tox?”
Answer: No. Nothing.
I did Botox years ago for a book tour. Told myself it just disintegrates. But don’t be silly. I don’t put any other injectables in my body. I read some wild stuff about nanobots potentially in Botox. Not for me.
What I did instead:
Face yoga— Trinh George on Instagram (she gives away so much content! Sweetest.)
TheraFace Pro (Therabody’s handheld device with electrical currents for cell regeneration. I use it with face oil a few times a week.)
Licorice Root extract for melasma
Red light therapy for brown spots (lightening melasma)
HigherDOSE mask (flat, pliable, can lay on chest/neck)
Dr. Dennis Gross mask from Sephora (expensive, but I’m seeing results)
For 5 years I used a popular medi-spa makeup line. Later found out: it had a lot of metal in it. Dropped it immediately.
What I use now:
Living Libations (founded by genius Nadine Artemis)—they have a room just for frankincense oil. I use it on my skin, gums, teeth, everything. I’m obsessed.
Rene Rouleau line (active ingredients, faves: skin lightening toner, triple berry mask, Vit C)
THE HOME ENVIRONMENT
Mold hides everywhere. I cleaned up my space.
What I did:
AirDoctor Pro air purifier + 3 years of filters (they kick into gear when you light a match or over-pepper dinner—very sensitive, totally worth it)
Multiple diffusers with Young Living essential oils (I apply oils to my feet, skull, heart, palms multiple times a day)
DIY cleaning mix: Thieves oil + clove oil + orange oil + baking soda + vinegar (for dishwasher, washing machine, diffuser cleaning—mold loves to hide in those places)
THE SPIRITUAL PRACTICES
With a clearer mind, I could discern the solutions and people who could help me heal.
Salt baths (4–5 cups of salt + essential oils after Write + Burn rituals)
Write + Burn practice on the dark of the moon (we do this in the CENTERED Collective —journal, recipes, how-tos all there, or get the CENTERED app for free)
Prayer and meditation
Essential oils as plant medicine (oils on skull, heart, palms, liver, amygdala—rituals outlined in our Collective)
This took three years and it cost me a fortune. Everything I’ve shared are things I’ve done, paid for, and purchased. Results are what matter.
