Monday: The Moon’s Day
Love, welcome to part 3 of my 8-part series on the energetics of the days of the week. Today we’re talking about all things Monday—the day that’s ruled by the moon.
Those of us who have a little bit of French know—lundi, lunar force. This lunar energy is shadowy, watery, and very emotional. It’s unconscious energies coming to the surface. When we honour Monday’s emotional nature, we set ourselves up for a more flowing, graceful week.
Monday’s lunar energy is distinctly different from Sunday’s solar force. When we understand each day’s energetic signature, we flow with that energy instead of resisting it. Focusing your BODY-related tasks on Monday taps into the moon’s connection to our physical and emotional cycles.

MONDAY is ruled by the Moon, lunar force. This means that shadow energies (the unconscious) abound. It can be highly emotional, watery-feeling for some people. Mondays call for patience and mindfulness.
LIFE AREA pairing: BODY. Nutrition. Movement. Rest. Supplements + Medicine. Sex + Sensuality. Healing Modalities.
Here’s something that might surprise (and delight) you: Monday is NOT the ideal day for meetings. (I bet if you said to your team, “How about we don’t have meetings on Mondays?” they would love it.)
On Team D, we’re all pretty quiet on Mondays. We no longer have Monday meetings. We stay in “planning mode”. For me, personally, no interviews or filming. Of course, these things all happen once in a while, but mostly I ride that fresh Sunday restoration energy—that worship, sparkle energy—into Mondays.
You don’t need to buy into this cultural system about how everybody else starts their week—dragging themselves and thinking they’re getting ahead with the crushing and the slaying. Mondays are not the best time for fresh starts or outward-facing energy. You can do it a different way and receive the blessings of being more aligned with the cosmos.
Mondays are a great day to get your ducks in a row. It’s a great day to focus on your personal and professional wins—to look at what you’ve achieved and want to achieve in the coming week.
This is naturally my day for honoring the body and staying as inward as possible. I do my writing. I try not to get into potentially sticky conversations—just let it settle.
Monday brings deep work, creation, and mindful energy. It’s all about honoring the emotional, watery nature of the day and staying focused on your personal wellness and productivity.
Mondays are ideal days for:
1. Meal planning and food prep
2. Long walks in nature or gentle movement
3. Deep work and creative projects
4. Personal planning and getting your ducks in a row
5. Calling your parents or close family
6. Focusing on personal and professional wins
7. Staying as inward and quiet as possible
8. Journaling about emotions that surface
9. Gentle yoga or stretching
10. Honouring your emotions (see Lunar Mondays below)
There’s an intuitive knowing in most people that Monday wants to be approached differently. The most productive thing you can do is honour the emotional, watery energy that Monday brings. I’ve started what I call “Lunar Mondays”—where I give myself permission to feel whatever is coming up emotionally without judgment.
I don’t fight the lunar force or try to push through with typical “Monday energy.” If I’m feeling more sensitive, I honor that. If old emotions or memories are surfacing (which happens more on Mondays), I let them come up to be acknowledged. I stay quiet, do my deep work, and avoid scheduling meetings or outward-facing activities.
The planning and preparation that happens on Monday creates a strong foundation for the Mars energy of Tuesday and the Mercury communication energy of Wednesday.
Here’s what I’ve discovered:
Lunar Mondays remind me about honoring my emotional cycles. It’s not about being unproductive—it’s about working WITH the lunar energy instead of against it. When I give myself permission to be more inward and emotional, my creative work actually flows better.
Lunar Mondays show me what my body really needs. When I slow down and tune in, I often realize I need more rest, different foods, or gentler movement. My meal planning becomes more intuitive. My deep work feels more aligned. The “productivity” things slip into a more natural rhythm that honors my nervous system.
ALL THE WORK becomes more soulful. From writing projects and planning sessions to calling my parents and taking long walks. I’m sure this is the direct result of honoring the lunar force that’s available to me every Monday… instead of fighting it.
The key is patience with yourself and others. Monday’s emotional accessibility can feel overwhelming if we’re not prepared for it, but it’s also what makes this day perfect for meaningful work and expression.
