Summer Solstice prep, movie recs and 86 songs!

I’ve got a big bash of music + movies recs for you. And pointers for making the most of Summer Solstice (works in all hemispheres!) 
MUSIC FIRST. ALWAYS.
 
This is one of my choicest, most packed playlists ever. 86 songs, babe! I built this while I was in Paris rebirthing myself in a little seven story walk-up, post a breakup, gorging on art, and lighting copious candles in cathedrals. 
 
It’s strictly positive and sexy. C’est moi, c’est toi!
I named it PHOENIX.
FILMS
 
HAMNET (on Apple)
…the most sublime story about the transcendental opportunity of grief. How it burns us and we become Radiant. And the performances! And the deep relationship to nature. It’s been so long since I saw an artful big movie. This was a healer.
 
An English remake of a ‘70’s film based on the banned D.H. Lawrence book. I remember overhearing my mom talking about how racy the first movie was. It’s a great love story, an identity liberation. The sex is just a bit gratuitous but… who’s going to say no to a good shag in a meadow?
 
I’ve seen about every cult docu there is. This is one of the best.
 
PRAY AWAY (Netflix)
…is about gays and lesbians who lead gay conversion therapy—under the guise of Chirstiantity, and then came home to actual love. It’s an intense path to all kinds of compassion.
EGYPT NEXT SPRING
 
NEW EGYPT DATES! We changed the trip to May 11 – 24, 2027! (No longer this September.)
